Treatment

What to expect during your appointment?

Your Osteopath will ask detailed questions about your condition, how it is progressing as well as a wider medical history.

Assessment and re-examination will involve hands on palpation, and we may request some undressing to make viewing and accessing the body easier.  We suggest patients wear loose baggy clothing, or tighter sports garments.  If you prefer not to remove clothing please inform your Osteopath, we work with your level of comfort.

If treatment is appropriate it will involve hands on treatment touch of the body.  The Osteopath will talk through before and during the appointment the areas they will be treating.

The Osteopath will provide some advice to manage your condition at home

Following treatment

It is normal that you may feel tired after treatment.  Some patients have also reported some discomfort, this is considered normal as the body reacts to and accepts the treatment, this usually resolves after 2-3 days.  If it persists please do contact your Osteopath.

You can bring a partner or chaperone to an appointment if you feel more comfortable.
